The passionate, hard-working people behind Arcadia pour their hearts and souls into everything they do, ensuring that this community of survivors becomes a reality. Our team will continue to grow, so reach out to be a part of what we are building at Arcadia.
Christi, Arcadia’s founder, is originally from Pampa, Texas, but she now calls Fort Worth home. Christi spent most of her time as a professional practicing trauma/critical care nursing, in both pediatric and adult settings. She has always been driven by a passion to care for those in crisis.
She also is devoted to building up the community and helping those around her. This particular passion led her to co-found Domeo Construction with her husband, Joel. The company strives to provide ethical construction and contracting services that create innovative spaces aimed at the betterment of the city.
These two combined aspirations led Christi to India.
On their venture to India for an orphanage construction project, Christi and her husband, Joel, discovered the heart-breaking reality of sex trafficking. Upon return to Texas, they learned that sex trafficking is extremely prevalent here in DFW. They knew they had to do something about it.
Through finding ways to serve and help with this problem, Christi discovered that while most aid helps remove girls from trafficking, there isn’t much assistance in the form of helping them to maintain a healthy life in the following years. Because of this, most girls return right back to their previous situation. By leading the charge with Arcadia North Texas, Christi hopes to spread awareness and provide the crucial care that girls need upon being rescued from trafficking situations.
Christi is both professionally and personally familiar with trauma and crisis, but she has also witnessed and experienced the power of redemption. These experiences are integral to the formation of Arcadia as well.
Finally, at her core, Christi desires to cultivate meaningful relationships and serve as a change-agent in her community.
Where past experiences, passion, and vision come together–Arcadia is the result.

Joel is the owner of Domeo Construction in Fort Worth along with his wife, Christi. Domeo Construction serves clients in the DFW metroplex in commercial construction with a passion for building with a purpose.
Joel has an Associates degree in design from Amarillo College. In addition, Joel also attended the University of North Texas for Construction Engineering where he was Cum Laude and the founding president of the National Home Building Association student chapter of UNT.
His career led him across the world in 2014, when Joel was approached to design an orphanage in India. On that trip, his heart was broken for the girls and the sex trafficking industry that many of the innocent fall victim to. The orphanage that was being planned would prevent 200 girls from this fate.
This trip also led to research by Joel and his wife to understand the trafficking that was happening in our area and identify the missing link to victims’ healing. Through this research Joel and Christi discovered the lack of available long-term treatment that is necessary for recovery.
Joel serves Arcadia as the construction and design specialist, and his team at Domeo Construction will oversee the design and build of Arcadia.
Joel and his wife Christi have four amazing children that keep them very busy. They love to spend time as a family, and they enjoy sharing memorable adventures together!
